Maha Prajina Paramita Hridaya Sutra
(The Heart Sutra English)
Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva, when deeply practicing prajna paramita, clearly saw that all five aggregates are empty and thus relieved all suffering.
Shariputra, form does not differ from emptiness; emptiness does not differ from form.
Form itself is emptiness, emptiness itself form.
Sensations, perceptions, formations, and consciousness are also like this.
Shariputra, all dharmas are marked by emptiness, they neither arise nor cease, are neither defiled nor pure, neither increase nor decrease.
Therefore, given emptiness, there is no form, no sensation, no perception, no formation, no consciousness; no eyes, no ears, no nose, no tongue, no body, no mind; no sight, no sound, no smell, no taste, no touch, no object of mind; no realm of sight, no realm of mind consciousness.
There is neither ignorance nor extinction of ignorance;
neither old age and death, nor extinction of old age and death; no suffering, no cause, no cessation, no path; no knowledge and no attainment.
With nothing to attain a bodhisattva relies on prajna paramita, and thus the mind is without hindrance.
Without hindrance, there is no fear.
Far beyond all inverted views, one realises nirvana.
All buddhas of past, present and future rely on prajna paramita and thereby attain unsurpassed, complete, perfect enlightenment.
Therefore, know the prajna paramita is the great miraculous mantra, the great bright mantra, the supreme mantra, the incomparable mantra, which removes all suffering and is true, not false. Therefore, we proclaim the prajna paramita mantra, the mantra that says: Gate Gate Paragate Parasamgate Bodhi svaha!
Hō-on Fugin Eko
(The Eko for the Sutra Chanting for Repaying Blessing)

Having chanted the Heart of Great Perfection Wisdom Sutra, We reverently offer the merit generated thereby:
To our Great Benefactor, the Original Teacher Shakyamuni Buddha,
To the Eminent Ancestor Eihei Dogen Daiosho,
To the Great Ancestor Keizan Jokin Daiosho,
To the successive generations of buddhas and ancestors who have transmitted the flame,
And to the eternal three treasures in ten directions, that we may repay their compassionate blessings. We further offer it to the tutelary deities of this Sangha, the dharma-protecting devas, and good spirits.
What we pray for is the flourishing of the true dharma, harmony among all nations, tranquillity within the Sangha, and that all conditions may be favourable.
All: All Buddhas in the ten directions, past, present and future,
All Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas, the world-honoured ones,
The Maha Prajna Paramitta.

Eihei Koso Bendoho
(The model for Engaging the Way)
All buddhas and all ancestors are within the Way and engage it: without the Way they would not engage it. The Dharma exists and they appear: without it they do not appear.
Therefore, when the assembly is sitting, sit together with them; as the assembly gradually lies down, lie down also.
In activities and stillness at one with the community, throughout death and rebirth do not separate from the monastery.
Standing out has no benefit; being different is not our conduct. This is the buddha’s and ancestor’s skin, flesh, bone, and marrow, and one’s body and mind dropped off.
Therefore, engaging the Way is the practice-enlightenment before the empty kalpa; so do not be concerned with your actualisation.
